Case Trimmer choice

I am tired of the blisters associated with "hand" trimming my cases. I am looking to buy a case trimmer. I did a search on the forum and could not find an answer. On the Midway site the the Hornady hornady.jpg

and the Forster foster.jpg

are the two that people seem to favor. Both get equally great reviews and are comparable in price. What are the opinions of TGO reloaders on these two?

Thanks in advance for all your help and advice.

I havent used them but I have to suspect that the crank is as bad as the drill after an hour or 2.

For the drill one, you *can* just mount the cutting blades in a vice or something an hold the drill up to the blades rather than hold both items...

back in 1981 i got a forster trimmer. works well, never had any problems with it. but for me it is not made for speed, any hand crank is not not made for speed. for 223 brass i use a possum hollow unit. it goes on a hand drill and you can go as fast as you want. they are hard to find, but when you do they are worth the trouble of looking. i have picked up the drill thing that goes on the forster, but have not put it on, might do that this summer to see how it works.

Like DLM says, or get the Forster trimmer made

for a drill press. They can move quick.

I use Lee's trim tools and a bench top lathe with rheostat control, it's super fast once I get my rhythm. I like it because I can trim deburr and chamfer in one op without turning off the spindle.

i have both a giraud and a gracey i am hard pressed to pick the best of the 2. for low volume trimming i use a drill press and a lyman drill press trimmer i dont think they make it anymore. nothing beats a giraud or a gracey oh by the way dillon make one too but dont waste your money too hard to adjust

I have a Wilson, which worked fine for me. Not the fastest thing on the planet,

YMMV.

If I was into large quantities, I'd likely go with some powered model.
