Hey, at least we can say that we have had our name in print (at least digitally)! And there are worse things you could be written up for than going through the trouble of getting a handgun permit. Like not getting the permit and shooting up the town.

Me and my Dad are both in there too. They even updated my ZIP code since I've moved twice since the original issue.

Someone just pointed out to me that the Communist Repeal here in Memphis has updated its online HCP search site: Tennessee Handgun Carry Permits Information & News from The Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN)

I guess this is so people can find out who their "dangerous" neighbors are.

Anyway, I just ran my name and am still not listed. One would think that at least if they were going to do this, they'd get it right, but what can you expect from the liberal rag.

I posted the updated link above in case anyone is interested.

I am proud to note my listing, along with several neighbors! Good to know info - confirmation of my fellow citzens solid and continued embrace of our American freedoms!

You go Commercial Appeal - keep up that GREAT reporting (you bunch of liberal loons...).

Actually, I don't think they allow plates/DL database out, even for filthy lucre, do they?

A few years ago, I went down to the dmv in Nashville to look up the plate of someone who was hunting on my land. I had to fill out a form with my name, address, etc. and reason I wanted the info. I found out you can opt out by filling out a form stating you don't want you registration info given out (except for LE, of course). Don't know if it's still the same now.

The C/A posting my name was the last straw for me. If you count my reading the Comics, I had read the C/A for at least 45 years. They finally got me to cancel my subscription by posting my name, along with all of yours. I honestly do not miss them. I hope they go bankrupt. Way to drive away a formerly loyal customer C/A!

Well, I am listed now. Man, I wish there was some way we could get them to no publish this.

Any chance we could get our Reps to make this information not public? It is not public in all states.

Maybe everyone that is not listed should call Nashville and confirm they are still valid before they get stopped by a LEO and find there is some clerical error and there HCP is invalid like a poster a few weeks ago.

Wow, Vontar, you're gettin' old bud. Now that I know what year you were born..

Seriously, wish they wouldn't publish all that info, but it is better than it was. Originally they included home address as well.

The thing that pisses me off is CA employees are not listed. Phill Valentine had a guy research all the CA employees with the state database and the list and the few who do have a permit are not on the list.

You can find out a name and address based on a plate. My wife was getting some harassing phone calls on her mobile. I started carrying her cell to have some "words" with the fella. A couple days later a car was driving past my house a couple times and my neighbor who knew the situation got the plates. I used an online service for $25 and got the name and address of the suspicious car. I never found out if that was the guy, but the calls stopped and I didnt go further with it.

Put in a % for the name... Database wild card... returns the entiire database..

That wild card works great.

Tips.

You can put your last name and the wild card for the first name and pull everyone with your last name.

You, in the past I did that but I got carried away with the wild card after I tried it and with just a wild card only search tonight. I had hoped it would crash the DB though. No such luck.

Tried full name & address, no results. Used last name only, finally showed up. LOL

Guess you have to work at it & be dedicated to use this database.
