I am thinking of trading my KelTec 3AT for one of the new Sig P238's.

If you have fired one , or own one, please let me know your opinion

of this mico Sig!

Thanks

I have owned 2 ... Both were AWESOME.

However, I was less than thrilled with .380 ammo (cost & ballistically), so I ended up moving to the PM9. If you want a GOOD .380, I'd go with the P380 from Kahr ... If you want a good and relatively inexpensive pocket/small 9, go with the CM9.

If you have your heart set on P238, they really are great firearms. Some need some tweaking here or there, and they don't like to get dirty (more than 150-200 round per session), but overall, a good pocket gun! i do miss mine every now and then, but i fell in love with Kahrs DOA trigger -- just a sexy pull.

I have one and love it, and my wife liked it enough that we have 2 now. 380 is pricy but we can reload practice ammo for as cheap as anything else. The only bad thing I have to say about it is the price is a bit high. Perfect pocket gun, and I carry it when I need deep, well concealed carry. Trigger is awesome, and its accurate for its size. Highly recommended but the model is known to have minor issues during break in --- my first one needed a burr knocked off by a gunsmith to make it behave, second one was flawless.

Got one. Love it. So far, flawless ... maybe three hundred rounds so far, both ball and HP. For me, at least, no break in problems at all.

Really surprised with how accurate it is. I got a Colt Gov't Pocketlite, and the Sig outshoots it.

As noted above, the 380 isn't my first choice for SD, but this thing is so slim, I can usually get away with packing it when the bigger calibers aren't possible.

This is my fist Sig, but if all Sigs are as much fun as this one, it won't be my last.

I also love mine. I carry it as a BUG or at times just in a pocket for a short trip. It can be tucked away pretty much anywhere.

Mine did ship with a broken extractor but Sig covered all costs and had it back to me with an 8 day total turn-around and sent me two extra mags for my troubles.

Since then it has been flawless but round count isnt all that high at about 5-600.

I like it a lot and have considered buying another, it is the sweetest shooting 380 that I have shot but I sure have not shot them all.

I will say that as much of a Ruger fan that I am the lil' Sig blows the LCP away IMO.

Of course considering the cost it well should.

I've had two, one ex-Rusty, both function flawlessly. I sold Rusty's simply because I didn't need two. I've got about 800 rounds through the one I kept without a bit of trouble, I carry it almost everyday in my pocket as back up to my 220. I've found it very accurate for a pocket pistol, easy to shoot and very reliable. I love mine.

i have one... got a really good deal on it... and haven't had any trouble out of it... i bought some colt mags from midway and they work perfect in it just like the factory mags... and cost half what a factory mag does... only shot winchester white box out of it...have some hydra shok coming in today i ordered... so we will see what they do... LOVE the sights on it... but i think the early modles had more issues than the currnet prodution

I have the HD version and it shoots really well, accurate and fits well in a pocket. I had to send it twice to Sig because it had trouble extracting the spent shell but after Sig replaced the extractor it worked perfectly. They have really good customer service and I think it is well worth the higher price.

I've had both. The sights on the Sig are much better. The Sig is quite a bit heavier - and is SAO. You need to be comfortable carrying cocked and locked with the Sig. The trigger on the Sig is also much better.

I would suggest finding someone that will let you shoot their Sig. Each gun has its advantages and disadvantages. Which one you like will depend on your individual preferences/requirements.

+1 for the sig p238 amazingly accurate for being so small, light recoil, no failures of any kind with approx 500 rds through it, Colt mags from Midway work in it, fits in front or back pocket for EDC, only it is a slight bit bigger and heavier than a LCP, TCP etc. Sigs customer service is outstanding

Like just about everyone else on here...I have no complaints whatsoever. My 238 is awesome. I carry it everyday in my pocket with no trouble. I like the 1911 style frame and I happen to be a fan of SAO. I have shot tons of 380's and by far, hands down, the 238 is the way to go. This is also my first Sig and I'm very impressed. I did hear as others have mentioned that the early production guns had a few issues but Sig seems to have worked it out because mine has shot flawlessly with a different name brand ammo everytime went to shoot. Factory Mags seem to be a little high. I wasnt aware of the colt mags working in them so I will have to give that a shot. Thanks JG55.

Sig factory magazines are always very high but, yes, Colt magazines do work. I've got a couple of Sig and a couple of Colt and they are virtually identical. I have one of SIGs factory extended magazine and absolutely love it. It allows a more natural grip for me which makes shooting the 238 a dream.

I have the HD P238 and the midway Colt mags do not work in mine. They ride high and block the fired case from ejecting.

hum thats really odd... i bought 2 and they work perfect...even locks the slide back on the last round which i've heard some people have issues with... the base plate sticks out a smige farther than the factory mag.. but other than that its fine...

Sig changed the mag design slightly for later production. The early mags were peening or something, the later ones did not. I do not know how the design changed may or may not have affected the use of third party mags, but that could be why some have no problems and others cannot use the non-sig mags.
