Note on ammo for rifle match:

You will be engaging steel targets on two of the stages. Steel core or steel jacketed ammo will not be allowed on these two stages.

Will the match be shot regardless of weather?

The Match Director will evaluate the weather situation on Friday and make a decision at that time. If it looks iffy, I would:

check the website

call Dennis and ask him (phone number on IDPA website and GRGC website)

We have had the 20 rounds in the mag rule since we started rifle matches in 2008. We do this for two reasons:

1. We really think reloading is a good skill to know.

2. We want a level playing field for everyone. 20rd mags are available for most modern semi-automatic rifles. I have been competing for decades and have seen lots of matches that the match directors have designed with their gear in mind so they can win. For instance, if I have 40rd magazines and design a stage with 34 rounds, I have a huge advantage over those that have 30rd mags since I wouldn't have to waste time reloading.
