Time to brag a bit...

I'm not turkey expert, but this looks like a great big bird to me!!! My boy shot this this morning. it has a 10" beard and 1.5"spurs. I didn't have any scales to weigh it, but it was all he wanted to pick up. He's very excited.

In fact, I think I hate every turkey hunter out there.

Always worried about beards and spurs, gloating over me. All I want is that delicious wild turkey breast, best thing I've ever eaten.

Not that interested in hunting, personally, but if I ever get around to it I'll be going after that delicious bird.

Thats a real good bird anywhere. 1 1/2" spurs is a trophy. I killed one like that 4 or 5 years ago and I've not got one even close since. TWRA says 1" spurs means a 3 year old, so your son's bird is probably 5 or so. Older birds are hard to call in sometimes.
