figured I would show off the beginning stages of my new freshwater aquarium, complete with village idiot. It has a long way to go but limited funds are thwarting my decorations...figured a little at a time it would evolve.

Make sure you put a fish that poops a lot in there.

If that head is not designed for AQ usage, it may not be good for the fish -- just tossing any old decoration in there can lead to trouble as some plastics release nastys in water. Or, to put it another way, BHO is toxic in any form...

oh yeah, I checked, its a chia pet, after extensive searching chia's are regular old terra cotta, and they say unglazed terra cotta is safe for freshwater, I did the vinegar test(yeah I know its not the best test, but it didnt bubble) the only think I worry about is the paint/printed text. the Beta and frog dont seem to be affected, I let it sit with just him in there for 3 days, and I didnt see any leeching or change in water balance.
