Can I ship to FFL?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I did read the FAQ's but did not find this activity listed.

I am a private seller selling my legally acquired Mac 10 SMG to a reputable out of state NFA FFL.

Paper work went pending at NFA.

Buyer states that I can UPS an SMG to him because he is an NFA FFL, does it all the time blah blah, but, and I want to be sure that is legal.

Thanks, I'll miss her

If that's the receiving dealer's policy it's fine. It's pointless to have an FFL on the sending end, and I don't understand dealers that only accept from other FFL's. Especially with NFA stuff, since it's registered and tracked at the federal level. And FYI you have to overnight MG's with UPS.

If it went pending, then you still have about a three month wait. You cannot ship until you get the form in hand.

Being a NFA item, if the buyer is the receiving NFA dealer on the paperwork, then yes you can ship it direct to him.

You cannot give it to a NFA dealer in your home state to ship it to the receiving NFA dealer since the home state dealer is not on the paperwork.

You may use FEDEX, UPS, etc to ship the item. Any common non-gov carrier is fine.
