Alhambra Shrine this weekend. Anyone going?

Well... It is that time again. Another gun show at the Alhambra Shrine. Anyone planning on going? I know I have b*tched everytime I go and have vowed to not go again. However, I will probably end up going anyway sometime Saturday. At least the money goes to a good cause.

I've been planning on going, but I've just about changed my mind. I'm afraid it is going to be a 3 ring circus after the happenings of the last week...

Maybe I'll get out there, but the last two gun show weekends have had lots of chores to do, and this weekend is shaping up like that too.

Just got back from the show. I was stunned at the number of empty booths at this show. Perhaps the recent shooting has detered many people and vendors from attending this show. I did not see any people outside trying to sell or trade their guns. I bet there was only a hundred people at the show when I went around 12.

I could be wrong, but this show might be dying. I remember a couple of years ago you couldn't find a place to park at this show. Now, parking is not a problem, and it seems each successive show is weaker than the previous show. It is very unfortunate.

They may run that one too many times per year this year? For the "demand" in our area?

I often forget or never notice until too late the East Ridge show that usually runs twice a year. Rarely read the newspaper. But if I notice that one, will almost always add an appointment to the cellphone reminding me to go. For one thing, it is only twice a year, and for another it is usually one of the best shows. So it gets higher priority if I know about it in advance.

I too made the trip to the show. I was hoping to find a deal on a .22, but there was only 1 guy who had them. That doesn't give him much incentive to wheel & deal! Oh well, I guess I'll just keep on looking...

The Shriner temple there is just smaller venue than some other places.

Same with Kerbela Temple here in Knox; used to be hot place for gun shows, but demand simply outgrew the smaller venue.

Far as the recent political side down there:

Wow, I hadn't heard of that before now. That's terrible.
