Carrying a BUG

Was curious in Tennessee, if the state permits you to carry a BUG such as an ankle holstered firearm. Currently waiting on my permit and only was asking as dress attire for work prohibits me from easily concealing anything much larger than my Kahr. If for nothing more than peace of mind an ankle holster with an LCR or similar revolver would be preferred, but wanted to check first as I have seen multiple postings regarding carrying a back up firearm.

Thanks!

Yep, a revolver is the best choice when wearing an ankle holster as a BUG, IMO.

As my local dealer says, you can carry as many as you swim with.

A SW 442 is small and light enough that I forget its there.

I don't ankle carry very often. When I do, FWIW, for me even my Airweight 642 isn't nearly as comfortable in an ankle holster as my P3AT. The revolver would probably be better, overall, as an ankle gun but it starts to 'bother' me after a couple of hours. I can wear the P3AT all day and even, sometimes, forget it is there. That could be partly due simply to the different style of ankle holster I use/need for each, however.

S&W 442, M&P9c, or Bersa Thunder UC9 in a Desantis Apache - that's the ticket.

It's great that Tennessee doesn't restrict us to just one handgun (and especially nice that we don't have to "register" the "one" we carry as some states require).

We DO have to be careful, however, if we travel out of states as having more than one on yo and loaded/functional can get you in a lot of hot water! :leaving:

Took a look at that, online. The ankle holster I use for the P3AT is the same type of ankle holster - sort of a 'generic' version that I bought at a gun show for fifteen bucks. It works great with the thin/light P3AT.

I have found that with some business suits, a S&W M36 on the belt and a M37 on the ankle still seems like a good idea in an Old School sort of way. :leaving:
