I picked up me a S&W Subcompact Pro Series. I haven't got to take it to the range yet, but hopefully I will later on tonight. The guys at D&T Arms ordered me this gun Friday. They called me in this morning to come pick it up. ;) I guess my commander size is getting retired to the gun cabinet.

Nice. I would be interested in reading a range report when you get out to shoot it. How do those compare price-wise to the Kimber Ultra (3") series? Are you gonna stay with stock mags?

3"" with and officer size grip. I doubt the range will be a go tonight. There is no power in the area I was going to go to the range, but I will report hopefully sometime tomorrow.

Thanks. I have a real weakness for 3' and 4" 1911s. Don't really dislike the 5" either, but prefer the officer and commander sizes. Maybe after tax season we can get together and try them out.

I had been looking at one of those as well. I'll be waiting patiently (not really) on the range report. I really like those but my experience with any small, light, .45 is that it is not fun to shoot. I'd like to see how this one compares.

Well, I had a blast with new gun. It's a freaking tack driver, I had really great groupings from any different lengths. The recoil is not harsh at all, it has a little kick but nothing uncontrollable. I put 100 rounds through it today with no FTF nor FTE.

I would recommend this gun to anyone

I figured I'd bump this....

1100ish rounds threw of various ammo and still no FTF or FTE. The gun is still a tack driver.
