Their website says they have a guy that is taking classes to become a certified gunsmith. The other gunsmith in Sevierville (On Parkway, off Main) shut down last month. (said he's gonna work out of his house but haven't heard anything since) I pulled up the address on Mapquest.... looks like Smoky Mtn Firearms is out in a residential area....

I'll check them out sometime.

It's in a meth making residential area. Lots of Pillbillys around there too. Once you turn from 139 onto Tuckahoe you go back in time 20 years. There are a few respectable folks scattered about the area. The mustang salvage place on the corner is ok if you need some parts.

You would think living 2 miles from them I'd have heard about the place. Never seen an ad or anything local. Maybe I'll ride by there in the next few days and report back.

Google earth the area, you'll see what the area looks like.

But if you want the real deal -- I own Smoky Mtn Firearms and we are a very reputable establishment and want to be of service to our customers.... not just a place to buy a gun and then get the brush off. We are just a small place and we are working hard to get all our stuff going (website, facebook...) So give us a chance. Please make good on your threat to come by and check us out. We want our customers be comfortable and at home. Our Gunsmith has worked on guns all his life the certification would just validate that knowledge--- just come by and talk with him.

We are having our GRAND OPENING May 14, 2011 Come by for lunch and door prizes. And meet us... you might even like us if you give us a chance

Since I posted last my friends stolen tractor wound up on tuckahoe. Between Hickman rd and Tuckahoe I dont know anymore.

Like I said before there are a few respectable folks in the area still.

I guess since you are not open yet I wouldn't be hearing much, explains that I guess.

Like the when I said there are still respectable people still in the area?

Look guys, Im not here to fight with people, or calll names. I simply added to what the area around was like. Never once saying the owner was anythng more other than an island in a rough area. I have lived in this area quite a long time. I know most of the people in the area and that is what I base my statements on.

If what I wrote was taken as the owner is a meth head, then re-read what I wrote. If anyone still comes to that conclusion then I am sorry, thats all I can say.

Smf is a fine gunshop! I live immediately adjacent and the range was originally to be on my property. It is now scheduled to open in a month or so, and is going to be a hybrid indoor range. I highly recommend Tim and his services. Yes, their marketing is less than desirable, but they are running a couple of companies at the same time. I am trying to help them in that area because I think they can be a great asset to the local firearm community. Please, go by and see them; I have bought a couple of firearms from them and couldn't be happier.
