scope ring question - Remington 700

I just bought a new Remington 700 .308 (that's what Obama would want me to do with my tax returns, right?) and I was looking at scope rings and wondering if I can use low rings or if I need medium height? The setup: Nikon Monarch 42mm with Burris 2 piece Xtreme Tactical Picitinny rail mounts - the rings in question are Burris Xtreme Tactical Low (1/4") rings.

Thanks for any help, and I'm open to any suggestions for other brands.

You shouldn't have a problem with low rings on the .308 model. That said, having tried both, medium height rings work better for me on that rig with a 40mm Leupold tube.
