145db spl is 15 db over the threshold of pain. Their suppressed shotgun is specified for use without any hearing protection. I think your numbers are wrong.

Not saying it can't. Did the gun really measure 145 with a supressor? I watched that show, but didn't pay attention the number. The EU risk limit is 140, and I don't think I would subject myself to that.

In the episode where they made the twin boat guns the dude got caught showing his girl around and not manning the front. When Will called him in he apologized and then started trying to justify it.

Will stopped him cold and said: Don't mistake this for a conversation".

New favorite line...

I was loving that. My wife even got a kick out of that.

I like the show. It is on television, which means most of it will be hammed up and fake. I know that going in, thus I don't get my panties twisted when they say things in a dumbed down manner for the non-gun-soon-to-be-gun-folks.

Thats what they quoted on the show, 144db, and then proceeded to shoot without ears on, and laughed at how quite it was. The buyer even shot it without protection and said "wow this is quite" makes me wonder 1 of 2 things. Either its NOT that quiet or their sound test equipment isn't very accurate

Personally, Im with the "its a bunch of malarky" crowd. The totall asswipe boss whos basic attitude is "YOU JUST WORRY ABOUT DOIN WHAT I TELL YOU TA DO" AN I"LL WORRY ABOUT BEING A COMPLETE MORON TOUGH GUY. Whatever! Haven't we seen enough of this already. Then they pull the BS SUPER MACHO RAMBO horse **** where the Huge black guy who happens to be a cop strolls in with his mint original 1919 that he wants converted to a shoulder fired weapon for the big annual tough guy gun shoot........................uh this Saturday by the way. I think it is a bunch of POPPYCOCK!!

I watch it for mind numbing entertainment but, it is very predictable. There's always the drama of whether the latest creation will work or not and how their entire lives may hinge on it. Oooooooohhhhh.....

My favorite part is when he makes the guy clean the bathrooms before he hires him for a few hours. I like Will's attitude that you have to be humble and willing to do whatever it takes to work for him. I know many people that should take that lesson to heart.

I love that show because I love predictability. Every week Will gets pissed, every week they do something that has been done before while pretending it is brand new (My goodness a shotgun and a rifle? Why I never!)

Sadly this show is going to get old fast, Intervention was compelling for a bit as was hoarders as was American Chopper. But they all kept doing the same damn things. Over and over and over again. I've got another season of interest left after that, eh.

I like the show and don't mind how the boss is portrayed. I will agree that it does get old seeing people bring in some nice tripod mounted belt fed machine gun and want it turned into a shoulder fired weapon in 3 days. I think the anti-pirate rockets made from paper towel tubes and the dual M-16 for the Brown Water Navy was a little ridiculous...:D

Yall have to agree the show beats watching the Real Housewives of New York/Miami/Atlanta/OC :snore:

If you watch close when they shot it some of the time you can see them with ear plus and sometimes with out.

This....which is sad because there is just not enough good gun related shows out there.

I wonder if the exposure is good for their bottom line. I guess any publicity is good publicity.

Seems like in the gun world or perhaps its just me, a bit of mystery about who, how, & why, drives interest in a product and the producer. Now that the curtain has been drawn, I'm not very interested.

Well, if 140 is the limit, then it may not be perceived that loud. 4db isn't a huge change. Gotta read up more.

He said his goal was to get it under 150db, I thought that seemed a little high, but considering its a 12 gauge 144 seems pretty suppressed.

150 is supressed based on some of the numbers I've seen. I need to do more reading. Hearing damage involves time too, so that probably has something to do with it.

I watched it and thought it was a lousy show. Just like Top Shot. Both are crap. They both ruin a perfectly interesting topic by making it overly dramatic.

Gotta agree with my East TN. neighbor here. Gets old quick. On a line with American

Chopper, Survivor, Top Shot, etc.

Do something interesting we can relate to. Making a RPG out of a hand full of Lucks

bean cans or whatever isn't worth watching. You can do most anything if you have the

budget & a shop full of equipment.
