I could have sworn when I was getting ready to move here from NC that I read that as a NC CCW holder, all I had to do to get my TN permit was apply and pay the renewal fee. But I just looked and apparently I have to take the danged safety course. Jeez, I just took one of these in NC about 18 months ago! :)

Oh well, not a whole lot I can do, except wonder whether I read the page wrong six months ago or if my Alzheimer's is kicking in again...

Shouldn't be too bad and always good to learn the laws of your new home state.

Have you called the TN Dept of Safety's Nashville office to verify this? I had an Arkansas Concealed Handgun License and just had to pay the fifty dollar renewal fee. I have heard North Carolina requires fingerprinting and range time like Arkansas.

Well, I got it from the DOS site's permit info. The requirements for the permit vary by state, presumably due to ariations in training requirements and such.

At least I get away with just paying the renewal fee.

Thanks! Aviation is definitely my first love... with any luck, one day someone will be taking pictures of me flying in a Mustang.
