How About Michele Bachmann and Rand Paul ?

And maybe in that order, too. She'd garner lots of Dem women votes.

They're both "maybe" gonna do the "exploratory committee" thang this summer.

She could serve for 8 years, then Rand for 8. Wow, 16 years of GOP!

Oh, wait....I keep forgetting it's the other half of the enemy.

Noticed how candidates have yet to declare? By this time last election, there were quite a few declared and openly campaigning. I wonder what the difference is.

Wings of the same vulture OS. Does not matter the party it seems, we are becoming something we wish we were not...

I really like both Bachmann and Paul. They are true Republicans unlike the Romney's, McCain's, and Bush's of the world, who are actually center left when you get right down to it. There was really little difference between Bush and Clinton politically, other than the letters next to their names. I'm sure the hardcore Democrats and Republicans would argue that, but to us Libertarians they were the same.

You want 16 years of GOP? I think you have have it with Bush+Obama. I don't imagine Obama will lose but I suppose it could happen.

Either one or both would be great to me. It's too early to tell what's going to happen on

the right side, but they are on the right side.

Herman Cain is still about the only one I could vote with a clear conscience. Though he probably isn't likely viable.

I really like Ron Paul but he is too old and would be ineffective as a prez except vetoing 99.9 % of bills. 99.9 % of the bills need vetoing, but there needs to be a little more than that.

Rand Paul needs more experience-- if nothing else to find the cure for foot-in-mouth disease. There are many otherwise nice folk who can't survive on the national stage because they say too much or too inelegantly. OTOH it seems a miracle folks such as Biden survived so long in the spotlight with foot permanently embedded in mouth.

Michelle is OK but I can't see her as prez. She seems quite competent as a budget hawk congress person however. Palin is OK but too impressionable and easily fooled. She's come out on the wrong side of too many issues because some insider likely snowballed her. If she was prez she would be more putty in the hands of insiders than GWB ever was.

Would really have to hold my nose to vote for Romney or the others.

Good points, Lester, but In a pinch, I'd vote for any of those you mentioned. It is amazing about Joe

Biden. Such a buffoon, and a law professor, to boot.

I've been saying Rand needs to run for a few months now. I met him at a machine gun shoot last year, seems like a good guy.

I like him so far. Haven't heard much from him yet, but find myself agreeing with him. It's unfortunate, but anybody that winds up in that office will wind up doing what the money guys want them to do.

I'm on the Herman Cain bandwagon myself, with Lt. Col. Allen West as his running mate.

I've liked West ever since I first heard of him, back in 2003 in that interrogation/shooting incident. Everything I've seen him say since then I've liked also. Recently saw him responding to a muslim member of an audience he was addressing. He thinks on his feet and has what I think are the right opinions. Haven't heard anything about him running, but I would support him.

He hasn't indicated anything about running; just wishful thinking on my part - I guess you could say that's my "dream team".

If Ron runs, I'll support him.

If Rand runs, I'll support him.

I'm not a big fan of Allen West or Michele Bachmann anymore, although I used to be.

Why?

Because they voted to extend the Patriot Act provisions.

One thing Obama has taught us is that we need a President who has actually managed a large organization. I like Michele Bachmann, and think she speaks well and comes across as intelligent and informed. But she has NO experience at management. So, I'm still thinking Herman Cain is the best choice so far.

I'd vote for that!

Mike Pence says that he's not interested but a Pence and Bachmann ticket would be my dream choice. Tim Pawlenty may be a good mate.

+1 ABO = Anybody but Obama. He's a disaster thus far. There are corresponding issues here - Ideology and Leadership. I am tired of the near socialist approach of th Dems. Obama has a ZERO leadership ability. Of all the potential opponents I really like none of them. No one has mentioned Gingrich. His personal baggage may cost him but he'll get in the game at some time. To me it is a sad comment on our country that we don't have more qualified candidates in the mix. Control of Congress is crucial. But I'm severely disappointed with the latest version. The House has not lived up to expectations. If we don't get a handle on spending and debt we are in for a very difficult time I fear.

Gingrich sucks, that hypocritical bastard is just another pseudo intellectual. I'm trying to think of a viable GOP option. Right now, sadly, I can't think of one. I mean I can think of plenty of folks I'd have over Obama but I just can't think of anyone who can beat him.

Laugh at me if you want I like Palin

Ha ha hee ho ho ho ha hah hah hah.

(sorry, couldn't resist)

On a tangential note, y'all notice the new Hispanic population stats? Wow. Assuming they stay predominately Dem, there won't be any red states before long. "Republican" may be a historic term only, like Whig or Bull Moose, by 2020 or sooner.

I would be surprised if Rand would run. Only in the Senate two years no experience. Oh wait that's been done before.

I vote for Ron.

The young Paul I can go with but the old man needs to say out IMO, not because of his ideas but for the same reason Rommney needs to stay out. The Repub party needs new faces with new ideas, the no experience excuse don't mean anything....at least with the donks it doesn't.
