Custom Holster for my Wifes First Revolver

Recommended Posts

My wife loves range shooting with me and finally made her first gun purchase last week so I decided to make her a western style holster for her new Ruger Single Six. I used 6 oz leather and lined the inside with black suede to protect the finish, then dyed it to match her gun. It was a nice surprise for her.

Wow! That's some really NICE work!!!

I think I would've made it so that it covers the trigger, though.

Thanks. Most western holsters (especially quick draw style) don't hide the trigger + it's single action so no accidental misfires upon drawing or holstering. I may experiment and make her a couple different styles to see how they turn out. You can never have too many holsters.

Single action - of course. I wasn't thinking. Please excuse my ignorance.

Very classy. :bowrofl: What's even more impressive is your wifes choice for a range gun. You'd better keep that woman.

Nice looking Mexican Loop holster! I'm not sure I understand the logic that most people think it necessary to cover the trigger. I like the look of the trigger exposed on some types of holsters.

That is a beautiful holster. Maybe get some Ruger medallions to attach to it to really make it look good.

Thank you. I have medallions & was going to let her pick one to add on, but this is the way she wanted to keep it. Kinda outlaw style. :P I just finished a matching belt tonight to go with it. Maybe I'll make another one with Ruger or star medallions.
