Seems pretty simple to me.

It's gonna come down to whether Beeler is believed to have been in reasonable fear of his life. Despite the headline, I don't think there's any new legal ground gonna be broken here.

apparently the guy was shot 3 times and it looked like he was running away. I'd hate to be on the jury for this one.

I doubt that the defense would let you on the jury. They don't like gun owners. Ask me how I know that.

Really? This is good to know. I need a TGO shirt to wear the next time they tap me for jury duty!

Probably won't have to. They asked me if I owned any guns, then asked me what caliber, then kicked me out.

BTW... the correct answer is 9mm

Would think that gun owners might be better for the defense in this case than not?

Btw, I'd say the DA feels pretty solid about conviction on this one, since Whelan couldn't get a deal for a lesser plea. Or the defendant wasn't willing to plead to anything, ya never know.

I know Whelan, might get a chance to ask him.

Old timer's disease... should have said prosecution.

They'll freak when I say Desert Eagle ;)

Likely not know what that is.

"AK 47" is the catch-all terror trigger.

Yep, AK-47 or Glock. If they ask for caliber, say 9mm, which is what comes out of an AK-47 and a Glock ;)

One time I got kicked off a deadbeat dad unmarried child support jury when the lady's lawyer found out I was a musician. Guess he assumed most musicians would be sympathetic to deadbeat dads. ;)

Good call :D. Not directed at you, but I know lots of musicians. The possibility exists :D

So, to reply with, "It's easier to tell you what calibers I don't have" would be a certain dismissal?

Yea, I thought most musicians WERE deadbeat dads. :P

How would you like the whole world to know that you screamed like a little girl?

If it helped in keeping me from doing same inside the joint, guess it would be worth it. :bowrofl:

Good thing about being an old guy. I doubt they would come after my old flabby ass. On the other hand, they would pass Erik around like a gravy bowl ;)

Don't drop the soap!

Anyway, glad to hear the verdict. I liked one of the comments about how a guilty verdict would only serve to spread a message that it's possible to steal as long as you aren't directly threatening the owner.
