How close is your home to a nuclear power plant?

Japan had experienced much more than "just a flood" before losing control of the plants.

Japan had experienced much more than "just a flood" before losing control of the plants.

It was only the floodwater that caused it. The quake, which was some 100 km away, and the ensuing tsunami wave caused no damage at all (except that it created the flood). The water inundation took out the internal power generation, which was the crux of the crisis.

It seems likely that some or all of our US plants may have fared the same given no external power and similar inundation of the entire facility.
