Might as well. It's interesting that last time we bombed Libya, the French wouldn't even let us cross their airspace. From the reports I've been getting, they were the first ones in.

I'm not watching it closely. Just getting email alerts. So far, I think the US has only gifted them with a couple of cruise missles. I would be real surprised if they put any boots on the ground. My gut says it won't take much intervention to flip it around in the right direction.

EDIT: make that 110 tomahawks from US and British ships. That's a pretty serious slap.

Nothin says diplomacy like warheads on foreheads. Interested to see what direction this takes.

I guess I must be "Mis-remembering" some of my history because here's the way I remember it.

A) Libyan backed terrorists killed Americans and when Ronald Reagan wanted to retaliate, France refused access to their airspace.

:D The liberals, including Obama, said that we had no right to attack Iraq, because they didn't attack us (did we get attacked by Libya recently?)

C) The liberals said Sadam Hussein had every right to kill his own people without America getting involved in their "internal matters"

D) The French won't help us in our wars, but I guess we need to play lapdog to them when they want to start a war.

E) Wasn't helping "Islamic Freedom Fighters" how we gave Osama BinLaden his "street cred" in fighting the Soviets in Afghanastan?

I guess I'm just too uninformed to make judgements about this situation, but are we gonna start sending Tomahawks every time The Crips and the Bloods start a gang fight?

we really have no business being involved in this deal.

The US has to stop being the worlds police.

Can you say Sweet Crude? Obama is a lap dog just like all of the previous presidents.

I just wish that we would spend some money on this countries infrastructure and stop sending/spending all of that tax money overseas.

if it is about oil I am fine with that. Send in the troops and take the stuff, commandeer their oil flelds. Tell the rest of the world that's how it is going to be.

But thats not whats going to happen.

Only one thing confuses me. We never wind up with the oil.

What the Hell,

120 Tomahawk cruise missiles fired at 20 targets in Libya

THose missles are expensive, we could have use brought those 20 targets for the price of less then a handful of those missiles.

I have a feeling they are over a million each.

$1.4 million to be exact. Estimates place the cost of a 6 month Libyan "No Fly Zone" at $9 Billion. Maybe the Japanese will loan us some.
