Gatlinburg vacation?

I live in Gatlinburg. It's a pretty gun-friendly town for the most part. The city parks are gun-free zones, but most other places aren't posted. The cops are on major powertrips, so I wouldn't recommend open-carrying. Concealed is fine, though.

If im not mistaken Calhouns and the Brewery are posted, but havent been in there in awhile. I know for a fact the Alamo is posted. Bennets Bar-B-Q is owned by the same people so it probaly is as well . Overall tho, there are very few places in G-burg posted. I only spend 40+ hours a week there and rarely see anything.

I don't know about Calhouns or the Brewery (also owned by the Calhouns folks) as I haven't been to them. I don't even go to the ones closer to home all that often but I do know that there are no postings at the Calhouns on Kingston Pike, the one on Turkey Creek nor the one in Lenoir City nor is the brewery on Turkey Creek posted. The locations in Gatlinburg might be posted, though. Mike Chase was one of the main restaurant owners flapping his gums in opposition to the legislation allowing carry where alcohol is served, which is the main reason I don't eat at his establishments nearly as often as I once did. Yep, I can hold a grudge.

I am at the aquarium now. I they are posted I haven't found it. I looked every where at the ticket counter, in the entrance, in the foyer, nothing so far. Been searching for ten minutes. If there is one it can't possibly be legal.

I'm pretty sure Sevier Indoor Range still has a full auto Mac in 9mm they rent but they are closed on Sunday. Not sure of your schedule but Coal Creek in Knoxville rents full auto's and are open on Sundays ( I think )

We are leaving on Monday. I can probably hit them up on the way home. I have always wanted to shoot a full auto. :P

I don't think they open until 11:00am. Call first, because they are a little off the beaten path.

So on the topic of carrying around pigeon forge and gatlinburg. I bought a gun belt from the little belt store next to the aquarium. In our conversation over what I was looking for we got into a conversation over carrying in town. He told me if you have a permit you don't have a problem.

I carried to the aquarium. Had I seen a sign I would have walked back to the car. I scoured that place from top to bottom. Never saw anything. I did make one guy printing towards the end so I know I wasn't the only one carrying today. Not sure if he was legal or not.

I drove by bennets to see if they were posted. Nothing on either set of doors. Not until you get all the way in and get a table, they have a posting at the waiter podium. It was properly worded and had the gunbuster sign. By the time you see it you are already committed. How legal is this? There was another entrance from the outside with no posting. For fun I called them today to ask if they allow hcp holders to carry in the restaurant. They said the do not allow firearms into the restaurant period. To that I replied "That is so great, just so I know what to expect, do you use metal detectors or are people patted down upon entering?". The silence was priceless. "uh, excused me sir" to which I repeated myself. "No sir we don't." "So how do you know somebody isn't going to bring in a gun?" "let me get the manager" CLICK......

Hehehe. It was fun.

Anyway after the conversation with the belt guy, the .380 went back in the car and the .45 went back on the belt. No problems so far and I have only seen an improperly posted sign at Bennets.
