Just got back from deployment so went to Hero-Gear to get the paperwork for a Tirant 9 that I had ordered a while ago.

I have a couple questions

Can I use a money order for the $200? What do I write on it, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives? Do I write anything else? The 5330.30, can I have 2 sheets of paper stapled together or does it have to be front and back?

Thanks for your help guys, it is great to be back!!

First off, welcome home! Thank you for your service.

I have always used a money order with my forms. I filled all of mine out just like you stated above.

I think you are thinking of the 5320.20, which is just your Cert. of Compliance. I print mine front and back. Less stuff to keep up with if it is just one page.

It doesn't really matter. The checks are stripped when they arrive at the mailing address. Then the forms are forwareded to the NFA division of the ATF. So they never see the checks anyway. Plus its a long wait on the F4 anyways so even if they do wait the 7-10 biz days for a check to clear you are still waiting 60-90 days for your background to clear.

I agree with this. Plus, a check is another way for you to track your progress.

Plus with using a personal check you can see when it was cashed. This gives me some comfort of knowing its in the works and recieved.

+1 on this. Too many horror stories about folks whose forms were not even being processed for some reason or another, and they had no way of knowing until they called months down the road.
