I put a Weatherby MKV in layaway today. I picked this up for 450.00 It is barely used. It is in 300 WBY Mag which I know is expensive, and is much more rifle than a fella needs around here, but I've been wanting one for years and couldn't say no. Can't wait until March 31.

I don't know that it's all that much overkill. After all, if you load for it, you can easily dial it back. My Accurate manual shows a starting velocity for a 180g to be around 2700 fps which is within a hundred FPS or so of a maxed out 30/06. Factor in the fact that you're happy as a lark and you got a heck of a deal and that's the sum of happiness friend!
