Muzzle Brake

Is any one using a muzzle brake on there long range guns. I have a 300 win-mag I an looking at putting on one. I looked at one that was called a JP has any one seen or used one or know of any other one that would work. I am using this gun for playing around at the range.

The JP works as advertised. I don’t use them anymore once I got into suppressors.

I like the idea of the suppress but don't like the government knowing every thing I got. As of right now thay only know of two of my firearms and i would like to keep it that way.

the 300 is already loud.

They help a lot with felt recoil but they also make it much, much louder for you and anyone around. It also increases the amount of muzzle blast felt by the shooter and anyone around. For a bench gun they can help tame those long sesions so long as your range allows them and some don't.

The only thing I don't like about the JP is thay put it on for you and won't sell it by it self and thay told me when thay put it on it can't be taken off .

BS. Order one from Midway and take it to your smith.

there lots of places to get your barrel threaded, once you get it threaded just pick out the brake you want. if later you want a suppresser no big deal.

be sure and shop around. i like the arredondo better myself, the rolling thunder is also a top pick among many shooters.
