I've got one in my BOB right now. Great guns. If you get one do, and I mean DO shoot a few before depending on it. Mine would not shoot over 3 or 4 rounds before failing, however Henery made it right and fast too. ;)

I've been thinking of getting one as well. I handled a few lately and like them. Seem well built and I like the intended use/design.

I'm not well versed on the designs history but hasn't more than one company had a go at this patent. Armalite, Charter or some others or different companies all together? Its the same as a AR-7 right? Thats were/why I guess Armalite?? I sure like Henry's other products and would think they probably got this one right too IMO.

It's on my list too. No good reason, other than it's pretty cool. I have researched it some. From what I've been able to read, Henry is doing as good or better than any of the past manufacturers. I have also read great things about their support.

Yea, Henry has one I really want. It's the "military tribute" edition. Love to have that thing hanging on my wall. :2cents:

I have one in the safe...... But I have never shot it. I like the 007 type gadgets and such. The rifle seems to made of low quality materials including a weak stock and barrel. The sights seem good enough to take small game or cans at up to 30 yards or so. Henry is a great company and turns out many quality products so I assume that they would not place their name on this rifle without confidance. I do look forward to shooting mine to see how it feeds and groups but I do not have very high expectations. I do not regret buying my US Survivsl rifle but it is the only rifle I own that I do not want more than 1 of. In a true survival setting I would be prefer a Marlin in eather model 60, 795, or the 795 PPS (for your backpacking use).
