My New Kimber Super Carry Pro

Last night I stopped by my local gun shop and there it was the Kimber Super Carry Pro I have been looking for. Of course I just had to have it. I took it home and cleaned it up and will be ready in the morning to start breaking it in. Enjoy!

Nice gun. I've been looking at those as well.

Very nice. I really like the Kimber slide serrations and the cuts on the forestrap.

I seem to have been bittten by the Kimber bug, or in this case the snake, lately. Just picked up a Raptor II. Haven't had it out yet, but I did go by Eastside Gun Shop and have John Wall check it out. He gave it a clean bill of health with one reservation--a possible need to re-arch the extractor. I'm going to run some rounds thru before starting mods on it.

Wash - Congrats. That is definitely sweet. I notice you are a Glock guy, too. I have resisted going to the .45 simply so I don't have to introduce another caliber. However, that is one fine looking carry weapon. Let us know how you like it.

Hello Folks-Update

I just got back from the range shooting my new Kimber Super Carry Pro for the first time. I shot 100 rds of 230 gr. FMJ and about a box of Hornady 185 gr. Critical Defense. I used both the KimPro mag. that came with the gun and a Wilson ETM mag. All I can say is this handgun ran flawlessly and I cannot wait to get back to the range to shoot it again. The one thing I will say is I do need to get use to the recoil from an aluminum handgun. There is little bit more recoil than I get with my Wilson CQB, but overall a wonderful handgun and great to carry. Spook, I am a Glock guy also, G-34, G-23, and G-22 Gen 4.

Yeah, I like Glocks too, but just about every other handgun as well. I have never understood the attitude that once I get a preferred gun, I have to bash everything else. I do like the ammo capacity of my Glock over the single stack 1911's, 15 vs 7, but that is more of a practical matter than just not liking a gun for no reason.

Nice gun man I'm jealous...Kimber did just come out with the Super Carry HD line which is basiclly the same design but all black and steel frame for heavy duty use. They look flippin' cool too. Anyway I was only able to afford one 1911 and its a Kimber SIS Pro 4" I picked up last year. I baby that thing and rub it with a diaper lol...It shoots like a dream too.

I just picked up my Kimber Solo tonight. I was so excited- First round jammed, Second round jammed. I am new to shooting so I thought it was me. I had the store owner take a look and I had the issues that others are complaining of about the coil in the magazine being stiff. Overall-don't sell your soul for this one. It is pretty and sleek but has a lot of recoil and seems to still jam after 150 rounds. Totally unimpressed

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kimber, enjoy working on a expensive gun just to get it to run.

There are only two videos testing the Solo at the range on Youtube: both had no failures out of a few hundred rounds so not everyone has your problem. If its the coil in the mag its a pretty simple fix just have Kimber replace the mag.
