Middle TN south of Nashville where to shoot long guns, leases, etc.

Where do those of you in Middle Tennessee shoot? Any ranges you could recommend? Any interest in getting a group together to obtain a lease somewhere?

It's a shame that there seems to be so little available in Middle TN south of Nashville. Seems like there would be somewhere in Maury County or Southern Williamson Co. around Arrington, College Grove, or Leiper's Fork.

Welcome to TGO from a fellow Franklin-ite. I'd ask if you were joking around with this question, but I'm guessing not judging by the join date under the name. We need to get you turned on to Charlie's place. Website for it here: CHMR It's the nicest place around Franklin to go shoot, assuming the weather is tolerable. Many of us are there quite often. Shouldn't be too hard to twist our arms into setting up another group meet in the near future...

Yuh, go to Charlie's. The place can't be beat. 40$ a year.. Out doors... Friendly folks..

Used to be called Owl Hollow until the gun club 'stopped' leasing it. I think there may have been some drama but not the sort that matters to us normal folk.

25/50 and 50/100 yards

+1 to CHMR. I'll try to head that way this weekend. Rain or not, I need to shoot something.

There is a state range " Stones River Hunter Education Center Hobson Pike Gun Target Rifle Range SRHEC Nashville Lavergne " that, while not in the Franklin, area, might be wroth your time to check into.

I actually haven't been there yet but I and another member here are trying to pick a time to meet over there, he swears by it and it looks like a great range.

I'm taking anything away from Owl Hollow...that's a nice range, great people and you can't hardly beat the price. ;)

After being a guest of Mr. Haffner, I have no need to go to a TWRA range again...especially with what I experienced at Cheatham WMA and have heard about Stones River. YMMV, so to each his/her own I suppose...

I don't know who "Haffner" is or what his connection to TWRA might be...all I can say is that the one TWRA affiliated rage I've been to (Montgomery County Shooting Complex) is a top-notch facility and both the staff and volunteers are first rate people (of course MCSC is a bit of a haul from the Nashville/Franklin/Murfreesboro) area.

I haven't been, yet, to the Stones River range I mentioned above so I can't comment on it but I've no reason to think it won't be a good place to shoot.
