Yup, I go to Riks whenever possible. Last time I went to GC, I waited and waited and waited while some little jerk tried to ring up a simple sale.

Marched out and told the girl at the door that I simply can not spend time and not get waited on.

There posting is all inclusive for all weapons. I don't know what to say except I have a choice where I get my guitars. My last purchase was $5K on a '66 Martin.

i don't understand. you're upset that your favorite guitar shop now prohibits firearms on their property, so you don't want to buy there anymore?

sounds like the "i'm taking my ball and going home act" to me. it's their right to prohibit weapons on their premises.

It is their right to post just like it is Volphin's right to take his money to somewhere that supports his right to carry. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Yep, their right, mine and the op's also to not to do business with them. I do believe a person with a permit is being hypocritical if they support a business that is posted.

I will not do business with any business that is posted.

The GC is a complete joke seriously.

Bunch of airheads running the joint.

Was never impressed with them when I was there on first and last visit.

really? some people just don't share the same beliefs in regards to guns, but I don't think it makes them a hypocrite if they continue to shop at that store.

but to each their own.

I liked shopping there because of the great used guitars that would show up from time to time. (Even more cool ones have been showing up as people trade in because of the economy). Besides, they just don't make them like they used to.

Someone suggested Rik's... I like going to Rik's too, but the selection leaves something to be desired. If anyone can suggest another shop that would be great. I travel the entire state for work so I can shop just about anywhere. GC won't see another red cent of mine and I have no qualms discussing it with their management. I can only hope that after reviewing my past transactions that they will compute the value of a lost customer over my expected purchasing lifetime and perhaps reconsider. And FWIW, I have carried into this store before, as usual, deeply concealed before their posting.

I find your views and nic interesting, wasn't Wyatt one of the first to ban carrying weapons in his town?

sorry to revive an old thread, but after spending several months here and reading threads and hearing other people's opinions, viewpoints and perspectives, my perspective on this has changed.

When I do begin carrying next month, I will not be doing business with any businesses that are posted as I now understand the viewpoint, whereas I didn't before.

Clownsdd, that's interesting that you bring that up, I remember him doing that in Dodge City and Tombstone from the movies they've made about him and how it didn't go over quite so well. But don't think I'm like him in that sense, lol, I just admire him as a LEO who took no **** from anyone, and wasn't afraid of anyone or afraid of a fight.

Well, this is just one more reason to not visit GC. For the most part, customer service has been awful. Maybe it is because I don't look homeless, they are very rarely helpful.

It must be location, because the Guitar Center in Nashville has been great to work with each and every time I have gone there. It's also wasn't posted the last time I was there a couple of months ago.

Was at the Nashville GC two weeks ago. Still wasn't posted at that time!

Not a problem for me. They're a bunch of pseudo-knowitalls. I quit doing business with them 8 years ago after their so called expert messed up my Martin. They can post anything they want since I'll never cross their threshold again.

I worked at the Atlanta store for several years and, the few times I've been back, I still loathe going into GC. I carry all the time, and signs carry no weight in GA.
