Those who said they wanted to give it a shot... come out and do it. No membership required. Just pay and play. I think it's $15. You will need 100rnds,gun,holster,3 mags, and mag pouch. Just come with what you have and have fun.

I went to my first pistol match two weeks ago and it was quite literally a BLAST. The guys out here are alot of help, and encourage new folks. I'm posting this since it took me weeks of searching to find this kind of club. It's something I always wanted to do, but couldn't find. Now that I have i'm helping others to get started. Visit www.orsaidpa.com for directions and details. See u there!

Since you liked USPSA so well, there is also another IPSC club in Greeneville at TAC2. They also shoot on the first Sat. of the month.

Come on DaG, IDPA needs love too! I need to skip CHRPC's IDPA match at least once this year and come up and shoot USPSA, have not done so in a long time, I bet it's still fun too. :)

This is some good information. I shoot quite regularly at the Guns & Leather gun range in Greenbrier but its not fulfilling the excitement anymore. I want to start shooting competitively. Thanks for the links!

If only I could be in two places at once... I'll plan for next month though. I'm going to go to all the clubs I can find and pick one or two to get really involved in. Thanks dag

The game could get alot of love but there is entirely too much whining about percieved advantages gained. I used to like IDPA but the last match left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll play on a local level anymore. The rules are just not clearly set in stone and can and is interpreted differrently by each RO. You just don't hear all the complaining in the other action pistol sports.

The best IDPA club near you is Music City Tactical Shooters in Dickson

I'm sure the fine folks at ORSA put on a great match, but that is a bit of a hike for you.

Sorry to hear about the bad taste on rules of IDPA. You are still welcome to come to the Music City Cup - IDPA Sanctioned match in November. Based on our last conversation about the match; Yes I will still weigh your questionable gun to see if it meets weight limits.

The only bad taste DaG has is the aftertaste of his homemade beer. Don't pay any attention to him, he stays pissed off at something all the time and tends to be overdramatic.

I'll have you know that several in attendance that day thought it was good beer and wanted more Thank You !! Even the Brewmaster said it was good...except for the yeast. And if I remember, you're the very one who thought we were shootin' an IPSC match, gamin' stages and highly pissed off all the Disciples of Bill Wilson and his Apostles and I got drug into the middle of it and defended you. See, try to help my buddy out and what does he do......talks bad about my homebrew.
