Guns and Leather had a BAR the last time I was up there. I am pretty sure it was a OOW.

I just found out a webiste calling themselves Valkyrie Arms sells reproductions of a rare Brittish carbine called the De-lisle. It was made from a sawn off Lee Enfield and fitted with a Thompson barrel and it takes 1911 mags. Only 160ish were made for special forces of Brittish troops during World War 2. It is a suppressed barrel and is apparently the quitest suppressed firearm ever built.

The price is $1995 and they build it how it originally would have been made.

I hope you can find a nice affordable BAR. I've never even seen one. I saw them on the History Channel and they talked about using them in WWII.

Well my only thing against the reproductions is that they are semi auto..which is no fun

One model was 750 rpm and the other was 900 rpm.

They are very rare and very expensive machine guns. The one from the Stern collection sold for $149,500. A machine gun dealer I know has two of them. But they are not for sale.

That doesn't surprise me a bit. It's just too bad that people like me who want to own a fully auto piece of history like that for the pure fun of it probably will never be able to afford it.

The SVT40 is a nice rifle. It's pretty accurate, has relatively low recoil for that cartridge, and is a fun shooter. It is a bad military rifle as it is easy to reassemble incorrectly and has some parts that break easily under heavy usage.

There are folks making a semi-auto DP-28 light machine gun. Reports are that it is very accurate and fun to shoot. Recoil should be light since it weighs 20lbs. The only real drawback is the price ($2350 Degtyarev DP28 LMG Semi-auto Rifle 7.62X54R [FIRUDP28] - $2,350.00 : Military Gun Supply, SSAR-15, Parts Kits, Surplus Guns, And More!) and the 47rd pan magazines are easily damaged. The DP-28 and DP-M were very popular with the Finnish troops who captured them.
