AK, semi>auto legal?

I recently purchased a Polish AK47, it is a semi-automatic. Is there a legal way to convert it to full auto?

Nope. All full autos for civilians have to be made before 1986.

no,no and....yes. a individual may not legally turn any firearm into a fully automatic with out registering it as a NFA firearms. A individual can no longer register a Fully-automatic firearm after may of 1986. BUT A SOT may build a fully automatic firearm with the proper paper work

SOT? Educate me on this please.

A SOT is a Special Occupational Tax class. It is another tax that a 07 FFL pays to be able to manufacture NFA items. So unless you are an 07 FFL with an 02 SOT then you can't make your semi AK a machine gun.
