There is no ban yet, and may never be. The delay is probably just due to high demand from people who think there might be one and want to stock up in advance.

I had ordered a couple of spare 15-round Glock 19 mags from Midwayusa and they showed up last week, so doesn't seem to be any problem in general, perhaps just ProMag is backlogged.

More panic buying? I know so many gun owners were upset, even insulted at the ammo and component scare a few years ago. There was no ban then, just panic buying. Personally I like panic buying. I made out very well myself. I was selling 7,62x39 for twice what I paid for it. I didn't twist any arms or hold any one up either, I honestly took the first offer and ran. Now look as the prices are falling. There was a time in '09 when I could sell a case of Monarch for $300 EASY. Now it's back down below $200. Also, you can find [if you search] folks who overextended themselves during the panic and need to recoup some of that money now that the rent is behind.

Magazines could easily be the same, and those of us who are wise and frugal little squirrels will be all the better for it. The sheep will buy when it's high and sell when it's low. The wise and patient will do the opposite. It's a pillar of capitalist society.

As far as a ban? Nahh. First, for the record, who really cares if Promag is backlogged? Most of their products are substandard rubbish anyway. Second, if a magazine ban scares you and you are not new to the shooting world, you have been seriously derelict in your priorities. If you aren't within 90+% of being totally self sufficient you should have a serious sit down with a pencil and paper. I'm not without blame, the ammo scare really made me realize that all the ammo in the world is worthless without the gear and the ever-constantly honed skills to go with it.

There is no mag ban. There is a bill in the US House, but it shows no signs of getting out of committee. This is one of those bills that gets lots of liberal press, but that congress REALLY does not want to pass. By submitting and sponsoring the bill, they can tell the liberals that they are working hard for more gun control. But if it ever gets out of committee and comes to a vote, then they are at risk of having gun owners target them next election.

There should be a special consumer protection law passed to ban ProMags.

Nope, I don't agree.

1) A lot of our current problems came about because somebody said "There ought to be a law" when it is not the government's business.

2) Even ProMags have a useful purpose. I use mine to practice immediate-action drills as you never know exactly when they will cause a jam. You just know that they WILL cause a jam!
