SR9c

Took my wife's new SR9 compact to the range today I have to say I was very impressed. Put 100 rounds of cheap WWB through it and had one fail to fire. I am blaming the ammo. The striker left a good mark on the cap. Took it home, cleaned and oiled. Cleaned the striker even though it seemed ok. Take it again Thursday when I'm off and try some different ammo. Very accurate little weapon.

With the way Ruger is bringing new things to market these days it is anyone's guess if it will be the SR40c or SR45 first, I would think they are both coming. One thing is for sure and that is that everything they are putting out these days is being well received.

Good luck with that SR9c, it has been my experience that the triggers just keep getting better and better the more rounds that go down the pipe.

I picked one up in Dec. It's a great handgun! Shoots very well. I carry a Sig P239 as edc., and the SR9C is as accuret as my Sig. I'm not comparing the two makes, if youv'e ever shot the two makes, you'll know the difference. I'm just saying the SR9C is a very good gun for the price.

And I do own a few Rugers.

Is there anybody in the Tri-Cities area that has an SR9 or SR40 that would let me shoot it? I keep hearing and seeing all these great reviews about its trigger pull and handling, and I may want to get one for a first pistol. And also since its my first one, should I go immediately for the compact size or full size?

I shot both and went with the 9c. At the range, recoil is about the same as the full size and there was no difference in accuracy (at least for my skill level). If you plan on carrying at all, go with the compact for sure.

If you're looking at the 40, full size is all you got for now but I bet a 40c is in the works.
