It is not a case of vote the best person "in" in Chicago. It is the one with the best political machine behind them gets elected. In this case, it was the same machine which got O elected President. Mayor? Piece of cake, comparatively...

I see no real change in government from Daley to Rahm. But, having worked in that strange city, the first thing out of Chicagoans' mouths is this: "You're not from here, so you know nothing about here." Which, ironically, is not true, but many Chicagoans believe that statement as gospel truth.

And many see no point in venturing out of their comfortable little zones in the city. Sad.
