Going through Bama to Destin this weekend. I see that our HCP is formally reciprocated with FL, and is recognized but NOT formally reciprocated in ALA.

Does this mean that you CAN'T get in any trouble carrying in ALA?

I've been pulled over in Alabama with my carry piece, no problem. I'm not a lawyer though!

Reciprocity and recognition are exactly the same thing, as far as carrying in either state.

Although you must obey the carry laws of the state you are in.

All my children live in Florida so my wife and i are always on the road through Alabama and Georgia. My wife was pulled over a few months back by an Alabama LEO she showed her Tennessee HCP to the LEO and all he did was unload both her weapons put the in the glovebox and told her to wait till he was gone before she reloaded them. Don't know about Georgia yet haven't had the pleasure and hope I don't. Also have a friend who lives in Prattville Al. with whom I visit 3 or 4 times a year and I carry all the time there also and no one has said a thing but im not into OC'ing

Yes...you can get in trouble in AL or FL for that matter...if you violate the law... :D But you are not violating the law of either state by carrying their as long as you have a permit.
