Good news and bad news on my "new CZ-82

Recommended Posts

First the good news: I bought a "new" CZ-82 from CDNN for $169.00 in very good to excellent condition and it is indeed (of course it needs one hell of a cleaning to get all the oil and grease off it) and completed the transfer without a hitch with our good friends from D&T Arms (I'm trying to give them as much business as possible because they are new and fellow TGOers). They handled the transfer very well and were great to work with.

Now the bad news: I had also ordered a extra mag for $30.00 and expected it to be delivered to my house but it hadn't shown up. So I called CDNN and inquired as to the whereabouts of my magazine. I was told that it was in the same box as the pistol and I should check back with D&T. After calling them, I was informed that, although it was on the invoice, the magazine was not part of the shipment. So back on the phone with CDNN I go and am told by them that "we always have two people sign off on every order" and that for me to get another magazine delivered, I have to get D&T to fill out a postal claim form and send it back to them.

So here's my dilemma: I paid a fair price to D&T for a firearms transfer which they performed to my satisfaction an gave me a TGO discount to boot. I did not pay them to be dealing with postal claim forms. I do not believe that the magazine was stolen since they don't even deal in CZ-82's and would have no reason to steal it. I spent $30.00 on a magazine that I didn't receive but feel it would be unfair to ask D&T to have to fill out more paperwork, since it was not their responsibility in the first place. And CDNN says there is no way they sent 2 different packages.

What to do?

Get the forms for D&T, fill out all you can yourself, and ask nicely for their help. I wouldn't think it should be that difficult. At least check out the possibilities with D&T. I've made a few purchases from them and found them to be very helpful. To my way of thinking, as a former business owner, helping a customer with a claim for should fall under good custoomer relations and service.

Would have been a great time for a C&R License. You dont have to fool with others doing the transfers and the gun could have came directly to your home. If you used a credit card for the purchase you could call the credit card company and do a chargeback just for the magazine. I have had to do one before for almost the same reason. Good luck and congrats on the nice CZ.

CDNN doesn't do transfers to C&R holders and the price was hard to beat. I used my debit card, not sure if I can take the charge off it.

Hey there tntnixon,

After you call me about the CZ mag, I dumpster dived for the box it came in to see if I overlooked the mag and no joy.

If you get the paperwork from CDNN I will gladly help you with the claim. Just let me know how you want to handle it.

How it's done. :)

Thanks Dave. I know that this transfer netted less than minimum wage for you and your employees and appreciate it very much. I had the guy from CDNN email me the form and will bring it by.

However, in spite of this good conclusion, I must say that I will never order from them again. I asked the guy to email me the form and I simply said to him: "I just want you to know that I am pissed about you making me go through all these hoops to get my product especially since this is my very first order from you and I was planning to make more. I have never had a company make me go through this before." Then he all but accused me of stealing from him saying "Sounds like you have had too may orders not have everything in them and asking for more". WTF? Is this the way these guys do business? Has anybody else had any dealings with them?

The last time I stole something, I was in 3rd grade and my mother made me go back to the store and appologize to the manager (still remember it to this day). I just can't believe this guy made such an accusation.

Anyway, I would avoid them like the plague, unless being insulted is your ultimate goal.

I would tell CDNN that they effed up and need to send the damned mag. It's not up to your FFL to deal with that. You paid for it, you didn't receive it...simple as that!! But hey, that's my two cents.

vendor makes a mistake, customer has difficult time getting resolution, some offer suggestions, others want to bash, vendor bashing......gotta love it.

Just an update: Finally got my mag from CDNN delivered to D&T Arms. Just wanted to given another thumbs up to David and his crew. They went way above and beyond what I would have considered necessary, with my greatest appreciation. I just can't say enough good things about the way they handled everything.

Next time, spend a few bucks more and deal with SOG, AIM, or J&G. My Dad has had good dealings with Sog.

Nice. :pleased:

Or you could get fast, friendly service from a vendor here who treats customers as a valued asset as opposed to an order #. I'd rather exchange handshakes over customer support emails with the complaint department.

And spend more money for the privilege of doing it...wow.

Ok, so I recommend finding another company to buy from and don't mention anything about leaving D&T out of the transaction, which I meant to still have them transfer the CZ. Yet The member below can completely recommend leaving D&T out of the equation and no one says a damn word. Wow. Nice double standard Bronker.
