Tasers, Stun Guns-- Appropriate Response?

As Police officer if someone would have threatened me with a taser; I would have warned them to drop it (if I had time). If they didn’t comply I would have shot them.

It’s a situation that may well end up going to a jury, but if a persons knows or sees that you are armed and they try to deploy a taser; it is reasonable to assume that they would then have control of your weapon.

I sometime find simplistic answers are best.

If someone indicates that he will tase me, I'll assume he intends to do me great bodily harm. If I can, he will be dead.

You are all gun crazy. A responsible person would try to talk to the attacker until they were friends or as a last resort shoot him in the arm or leg. That would allow appropriate time for the only "truly" qualified gun handlers, the police, to respond.

Tasers are used to CONTROL people. Anyone (not Police) who wants to control you but not kill you (right away) does mean to do you serious harm. It seems to me that these things are only useful to police and rapists/serial killers. Needless to say, I don't like them.
