I've also been waiting since January 18th as well. The fine folks at TDOS office told me I was issued on February 14th and I should get it in the mail in 7-14 days. I can't wait.

The wait will be be over in a short time and you'll be leagal to carry. This is a good time to consider how you will carry, type holster, spare mags, etc. You'll likely have your permit long before some of these questions are answered.

i've gotten a holster that has a slot for a spare mag for my p-95 but with it on and a jacket it's still pretty noticeable...Am going to find a holster for my taurus compact 45 at the gun show this weekend.

It's been 4 weeks yesterday. I'm pretty anxious but I haven't really decided how I'm going to carry yet. I think I'm going to go with a pancake holster and my compact 1911. Anyone have a favorite pancake holster? Maybe something that sits a little higher so the shirt covers it? I'm thinking of going with a De Santis.

Might want to hit up TGO member gregintenn. Just had him make me a custom leather holster for my 1911. Waiting on it to show up, but based on pictures of his work I'm going to like it. Very reasonably priced too.

Nice, thanks for the ideas. Also, I got home today and my permit had arrived! 4 weeks and 1 day. Does that snap on the galco keep you from carrying in cocked and locked?

Congrats on receiving your permit! Some of us have acquired more holsters than guns, trying to find the one that works well. A good gun belt becomes a necessity.

I ordered my new holster from GreginTenn also, for my Colt 1911 officer's. I can't wait!

You'll love it. They're worth twice what Greg charges for em when you consider the quality of his work.
