Ideas for a new conceal carry 45

I m looking to get a new 45 acp for concealed carry and am wondering what everyone likes these days. Not really looking for a 1911, and kahr's have disappointed me. I can get new Glock 45's for 530ish out the door at gt's so I may go that route just because of value. I just wish there were a full grip. So whats everyone think XD45c, M&P, or ? Trying to stay under $700

I know your not looking for a 1911, but I couldnt be happier with my High Standard Compact. All the nice features and shoots like a dream.

Love my M&P 45. You could always do the M&P 45c if you're wanting something a little shorter in the grip.

The Glock 21/21sf has a full size grip just fyi. The 30 is a compact double stack and the 36 is a sub compact single stack. I carry the 30sf myself and I love it.

I'm leaning towards another glock 36, the 21 is just too large of a grip for me to try to conceal. I had a 30 and didnt care for it too much but I would be willing to try a 30sf even though IWB it is everybit as wide as it looks.

I would go with a Glock 30 or 36.

If you like the XDs you could also look at the XD 45 Tactical Compact, or an XDM 45. Just go ahead and buy them all!!! You know you could have a different one for every day of the week.

I have a 30sf and like it. I want to try a 36. They are hard to find for some reason. Especially used.

Look at the Beretta Px4 Storm in .45acp, it is a great pistol. I have one and love it, shoots great with reduced recoil.

XDm would be my choice. Fit and feel are top notch. I would go with a Springfield over a Glock any day, as I am a recent convert from Glocks.

What about a Sig 220?

I have handled a few 220's but most are a little big. Not too many of the compact ones out there. It is an option in my mind.

Look at the Beretta Px4 Storm in .45acp, it is a great pistol. I have one and love it, shoots great with reduced recoil.

I also have the PX 4 .45 and the 9 RD mag makes the grip easy to conceal. Its DA/SA trigger is very good, better than the M&P IMHO.

The Beretta Storm line of firearms is like a gaggle of friendly fat girls. You don't mind talking to them, but you don't really want anyone seeing you do it.

G36 would probably be your best bet. If you're really interested in a 220 compact, check out CDNN. They have a pretty good deal on 220 Compacts w/ night sights, elite beavertail, and SAO trigger w/ thumb safety. You could also look for a third gen S&W compact .45 like a 4516 or a CS45.

Another plug for the M&P 45. Great guns and I really like the M&P 45c. It's the perfect size for carry IMO.

+ 1 for the CS45 really nice little gun. also the 457. As for the Sigs don't forget the P245. another really nice weapon.

I have yet to find a compact .45 that I like better than my antique Star PD. Light, slim, compact, and reliable, it is my favorite carry weapon. for a while, recoil buffers were hard to find, but they are now easy and inexpensive to acquire. I change mine every 500rds in order to prevent frame wear. Until CZ makes a single-column, compact .45, I'll stick with the Star.

I've also got a Firestar in .45 which is smaller and thinner than the PD, but it is very heavy for it's size and a bit unpleasant to fire.

Yet another plug for the MP45c here. It's not small (like, say their 9c or 40c) but it is decently concealable. Tack on the Smith Warrantee and CS, and you wont look back. There are others. Kahr's P45 and PM45 are super carryable, but I can't really recommend them, as my experience with the P45 was less than stellar.

My first choice in pistols will always be a 1911. I have an XD45 and it has been an excellent pistol, accurate and reliable, but has primarily been used for home protection. I've started looking for a holster for the XD as I'd like to have the extra round capacity.

I picked up a 30sf from GT's. It feels a lot better than a regular 30 even though I have large hands. I feel it will work in most of my holsters especially after a few times. I am curious if it is as accurate as everyone claims there 30's are.

My vote is the m&p also. I have an m&p9 and it is my favorite feel next to my 1911s. M&p45c will be my next handgun no question.
