President... who?

"By calling attention to a well-regulated militia for the security of the Nation, and the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fear of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the 2nd amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationship, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the 2nd Amendment will always be important." What President said it?

Well, a simple Google of about any 10 words verbatim will reveal the answer, but I won't spoil it that way, cuz I shore didn't already know.

He also said:

"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

You know, the 0 man would do well to study this democrat. in 62 he cut spending and taxes to deliver us from a recession. He was not a keynesian.

3 out of 4 of my grandparents were democrats and all died as republicans. Like Ronald Reagan said, "I didn't leave the democratic party, the democratic party left me".

I was also going to guess JFK. IIRC it came from a magazine interview that he gave.

That one I didn't believe. That's a good one, but he also proposed lowering the tax rate

drastically to stimulate the economy. It doesn't make me like him that much more, but he

did do a few good things. He was the only Kennedy that I could like. Glad I was too young

to understand back then. My dad couldn't stand him. My dad liked that Reagan guy, though.

+1 on all of that.
