M16 Kit. Good deal?

Original Colt G.I. M16A2 Complete Parts Sets

Will any AR15 receiver work for these? Is this one a good deal? Is there a great deal of skill in assembling these?

The one's I turned in at the depo as a Drill were shot out. I would be wary of where these acutually came from. There are better deals out there.

There is not a great deal of skill in assembling an AR-15. You must however have the proper tools, supplies and at least a good guide. The start-up cost in tooling (armorers wrench, torque wrench, receiver blocks, pin jigs, bench drill, bench vise, etc.) isn't worth it for just 1 project. Word on the street is the U.S. made barrel for this kit is crap. i have no personal experience with these kits but unless you just want an A1 you could just as well buy a new RRA kit from Pete at Legal Transfers or a MA&I kits.

After actually looking at the link I'd still pass. The "converted" Semi-Auto carrier and new production 1:9 twist barrel are two reasons this deal is a bad one. Not that 1:9 isn't a good thing, but If I'm going to drop my money on something "Military Surplus" I don't want any silly civilian restriction modifications on it.

Heavy non mil-standard barrel, anachronistic A2 stripped upper receiver, plus the tools you'd have to buy to put it together makes for a crap deal. Even if you have the tools, I'd still pass.

I got one of the E-Sarco A1 kits with the new barrell and bolt. Had a friend of mine put every thing together. He also parkerized the barrell and it matches perfectly.

I think I'll add a better trigger. Right now it's about a inch and a quarter gun at 100 yards. Absolutely love it and its a good investment also.
