Long story short… a guy wanted to buy something I had. I told him if he sent a United States Postal Money Order I would cash it and send him the item the same day I received it. I thought it was a scam.

It appears to be legit except that he sent a money order (from Memo Money Order Company) for the $500 and a personal check for the $20 shipping. So now I have to wait. The bank told my wife it’s a good idea to wait at least 10 days.

Is there no way to check to see if a money order is legit?

I hate to hold out on the guy for two weeks, but he didn’t send what I requested.

I'm surprised he didn't send it to you via Western Union (The biggest rip off money order company on this planet!!!) They would have charged him $40 for a quick overnight delivery of the money order to you. I sent my son-in-law $2500 a couple of years ago for an emergency and Western Union charged me around $250 for that little transaction. NEVER AGAIN!!! A Postal Money Order is practically free by comparison, and sooooo easy.......
