I've read that the first thing that some people do when they buy a new gun is "Dunk it".

I imagine this is a cleaning solution or anti-corrosive treatment. I like to take the best care of my firearms, and would like to find out more about this. Is it ultrasonic? Just a solution? Any info. would be helpful. Thank you.:D

The first thing I do is fire at least 1500 rounds...then put it in the holster and not clean it till at least 6000 rounds. This over cleaning non sense is well....non sense. The only thing you need to clean out is the anti rust crap shipped from 3rd world country surplus weapons.

Only thing I do is run a cleaning patch down the barrel with a little solvent on it to clean out any grease etc. Only dunk I can think of would be in a bucket of parts cleaner of some sort. Never found it neccessary for my stuff though.

if that was needed i would expect it to be done at the factory. I don't buy a brand new car and change the oil after 10 miles. Call me crazy if you must.....
