Nickel or highly polished? What are my options?

I've owned 5 Glocks (3 currently) and I love them and will always have at least a couple. Happy with everything about them but ready for something new. So what are my options for a highly polished mirror finish medium to full size auto similarly priced to a glock? No real preference in caliber 9mm or bigger, but if it's a large frame I'd prefer a .45/10mm.

Thanks! P.s. I have a glock 21sf that I plan to keep forever so something a tad smaller and easier to carry would be perfect.

likely gonna be looking towards Sigs or 1911's .... If you only care about the slide, you can nickel plate one of your current glock slides

I'm more into the whole polished look. I guess it's a 1911 I'm after, but wanted to know if there was something else out there I'm not aware of that could be had for 500ish used.

Probably not gonna be in your price range but your lookin at a 1911, hi power, sig-sauer, 3rd gen s&w, desert eagle, beretta 92, walther ppk.

Then of course the saturday night specials, raven, jennings, bryco, etc.

do you like wheel guns? jframes come pretty cheap (less than $400 new) or you can find some decent used S&W revolvers that you can polish up

I have seen some of the Phillipene produced 1911's in nickle for around $500. Metro Arms maybe? Looked nice, don't know how the finish will wear though.

You are probably thinking of the American Classic line of 1911s made by MetroArms which are available in a hard-chrome finish, which is shiny but not really mirrored. I saw one at a gun show and it was a very nice finish. They run about $600-ish in that finish, about $100 less in blue. Here's one of those: Trophy Model

They seem to sell out of the hard chrome ones pretty fast - there was a shipment of several models of the hard chrome ACs in around the end of December but those all seem to have sold (at least those that were available through GunGenie.com)

Purdiest pistol I ever saw was a 4" Colt Python with Nickel finish. Was a Colt Custom shop special. Trigger was as smooth as room temperature butter. Always wished I had bought it.

Find ya a fair stainless anything, then some GOOD buffer wheels & GOOD, progressive step buffing and you will have a mirror, eventually. At least 1/2 hp motor, or you'll end up burning it up prolly.....

Love to show ya my Ruger MARK III polished out... nice. I like shiney.

Personally,

I would go with a polished hard chrome. It gives better scratch and rust resistance than nickel.
