I'm not HOGNUT but I will answer. We do not have practice days, the range is private property only open on match days. MCTS members can practice after a match as long as someone from the executive committee is still on the range.

You do not need to be a member to shoot club matches at MCTS. You do need to be an IDPA member to shoot a sanctioned match or have a classifier recorded and submitted.

Alright guys I just signed up at IDPA. Guess I need a vest. LOL Still trying to recruit a few guys to come with me that backed out last week. The course looks straight forward and challenging.

Excellent! Do bring them out they will have a good time. This match will be run with standard equipment, so a strong side holster is required. No concealment required on a classifer match either so you can wait a bit more on a vest if you want to.

I was working today because some of my employees were stuck at home because of weather and did not get a chance to review the thread. Mechanic_X it is great to hear that you joined IDPA because you had a great time with us this past weekend. Tell your guys that missed the Intro Match that they missed the great time shooting in the snow and rain!

The Classifier is coming at a great time for everyone who came to the introduction match and had a good time. You got a taste of it, now come out and get your classification.

I need some clarification on a few things. I'm not sure if I'm ready at this point to join IDPA but had a good learning experience at the intro match and want to shoot more. I understand that you have to join IDPA for the classification to count but do I have to join just to shoot the classifier for practice? If I can shoot and end up shooting more matches then I would stay at NC until the next classifier match is offered in July, correct?

Not sure I understand which matches are sanctioned. Are all the ones you guys put on sanctioned or is that for the large multi club matches, etc.? I don't really have any plans of doing anything beyond your local club level. So given that would there be any down side of just coming to the matches and shooting NC until I can decide if it's something I want to take to the next level and get classified?

The only sanctioned major match on our schedule is in Nov for this you must be an IDPA member and classified.

You may shoot all other matches with us without IDPA membership, you may also shoot the classifier for practice if you wish. I can hold your classification for a month or so if you decide to join, otherwise yes you would be NC until the next classifier.

You guys got me hook, line, and sinker. I just joined IDPA and cannot wait for next Saturday's classifier.

Assuming I get my membership packet in time, do I just bring the card? If I do not get it in time, I hope the above offer to hold classification for a month is open to anybody.

The offer is good, just get the info to me when you get your number and I will update the classification database.

It normally takes about a week to 10 days to get info back. However with the many people that recently signed up lately, it may take a little longer. I will call HQ and speed them up on it on Monday.

Bring your daughter this weekend as it will be a warm day of shooting on Saturday.

Is the Classifier OK for new guys to come and shoot? I still have a couple of good shooters who would love this. One does the civil war stuff. The reloads would kill him. LOL. But he is good with a saber. Anyway, I am hoping for four of us, and my daughter.

Yes it is ok to come to the classifier as a new shooter, they will need a strong side holster and mag pouch for the weak side. My very first match was a classifier it was ugly but I still had a good time.

Allan,

Someone got the hint........

There should be 3 to 4 full classifier setups this weekend depending on bay conditions. This will be a perfect opportunity to get classified in multiple divisions.
