Sig 556 Classic

Went to the range last weekend. Finally, got the .308 sighted in.

IT was cold and nasty, but I decided break out the new Sig 556. First time trying it out. Was just basically function testing (ie wasting ammo)...

The rifle shot well with Privi 62 grain no misfires nor malfuntions. However, Wolf 55 gr was a major flop. We had close to a dozen FTF using proven CMMG, Magpul, and Colt mags.

It was fun enough to deserve another chance, but the 556 will not be replacing my AR anytime soon...

Did you adjust your gas setting when you changed ammo? My friends was doing the same thing and opened up the gas port and that took care of it.

No, I did not change the gas setting. Bet that would have fixed it. Good idea! By the time I got the Sig out we were cold and ready to split. Gonna give it a good running soon.

DOH! Forgot about that myself when replying. It sadly has been months since the poor Sig has been taken out and properly cared for (shot). Hopefully I will be able to rectify that shortly.

I shot my SIG556 Classic SWAT for the first time yesterday. It was XM193 on regular setting but I had no failures for the 100 rounds I shot and about 20 more suppressed. I am probably going to shoot nothing but wolf and Bear ammo through it from now on because of the awesome AK'esque extractor.

Shamless pics:

Don't forget to get a 522 for cheap shooting fun.
