This is gonna suck! I started today tentatively as I have to go to WV and cruise timber next week, I can't be climbin mountains and working out I might just die. So I thought I'd do the first couple workouts and do a True start on March 1st. Holy , I'm officially a puss! We'll see how this turns out. I have done similar workouts in the past, and went from 195 to 170lbs, but I was 6 years younger then, this time it seems to hurt a little more. :)

I finished the 1 go around early last year! It liked to have killed me. I went from 220 to 184. I just started again for the second round yesterday.

Is there a way to bulk up doing it? I'm trying to go from my 180 up to about 195-200, but everyone I talk to just says it leaves you cut and slimmer. I'm already there I just want a little more mass.

I weighed 184 lbs.

...when I was 12.

I need to start it too. Where did you buy it, McFlurry?

Yes. I don't mean this condescendingly, but it is simple as increasing your caloric intake. I have never done P-90X, but I go to the gym about everyday. When I am wanting to increase my body weight up, I start boosting up the calories especially supplementing my diet with protein shakes. I prefer Muscle Milk. High protein and plenty of calories per serviing.

One of the reasons P-90X is so successfull is that it shocks the hell out of most people's system. It would not be nearly as effective for someone already in really good shape.

PX90 is a cardio workout designed to cut/reduce fat.

If you want to bulk up, double your calories and eat protein every two hours. Your workout should be heavy and lazy. If you're up to it start a once a week 20 rep squat routine as the only cardio work you do and drink 1000 calorie protein drink before you go to bed. Week on, week off with your workouts.

Simply you have to eat more calories to add bulk and use heavy weights with low reps.

Less weight high reps to cut-up with fewer calories but using clean foods such as going natural, cut the sugar, cut the bread and dairy, eat quality carbs and quality proteins. Drink nothing but water and teas.

In my younger days, this worked for me and some friends of mine.

Thanks for the responses guy. I've done the shakes and upped my calories so I'm slowly gaining. The main problem for me is my schedule so I have to watch myself because I don't want to start gaining and miss the gym lol Just a slow process for me.

I saw a couple for sale on craigslist today in the Knox. area and one also had the insanity dvd's. I did it for a month and a half and was doing quite well both in strength and losing fat but the bad discs kicked in again so I had to stop. I had to do the spinal shots again and feel a lot better but far from 100% but I am planning on hitting it again within the next week or so. I will prob. do cardio again for the first 1 to 2 weeks just to build my stamina up again that helps a lot. I never did get into the meal plans but ate smarter with lots of protien and good amount of carbs at the right times. I would advise that you not just get the dvd's alone do get the books and stuff as they do have good info to build on whether you follow it all or not, either way good luck and hang in it will pay off.

i finished p90x in december...started at 6'2" 213lbs. ended at 194lbs of lean muscle..definately not meant for you to bulk up by anymeans but if you put on the mass and then do p90x trust me you will definately be satisfied with the results you get..

i would reccomend some sort of after workout rebuilding supplements tho at least till u get used to it...if not around about day 6 youll hardly be able to stand.

i used glutamine and EAS myoplex after my workouts to repair the muscles..and trust me it helped

It's amazing how effective P90X is. I did it last year and was really impressed. It's difficult to allocate an hour almost every day to it though.

Yoga?

I just knew there were a bunch of sissified pansies on here. :)

You may have to take my word for this, but pansy or no, if you're wife asks if you want to go to hot yoga class with her, you should most certainly go.

Quite a sweat I hear. I'd do hot yoga, if nothing else, for the view!

Yes, if I was asked to go to yoga class I would most certainly go.
