Does anyone know of any local gun shops in east Tennessee that deal in Sig factory CPO firearms? I've called a few and seemed like no one knows what I'm talking about, I've found a few online but I'd hate to buy something refurbished sight unseen.

I have bought a few CPO's online and have never been disapointed. They are graded starting at excellent. The grade is stamped/printed right on the case.

You can call them and ask what it is.

I have a 220 CPO and it runs like a top.

Tom and Brian at Tri Cities Gun Depot can get them if they are available, and I've run across a few in different shops around here from time to time. TCGD and Byrds.

There are fewer available these days because most of them come from police trade ins of duty guns. Many agencies have gone to less costly Glocks, and in this economy many departments are simply holding onto guns longer.

Great guns in you can get one. They redo the internals and if the slide is really beat up they refinish them, although that varies.

Frankly a used Sig is going to be reliable, they are tough as nails. There are plenty to find on line, and several in the classified here now depending on what you want.

Just be sure to check rail and barrel wear, usually you may just need to replace springs, often not. You can send them back to Sig for a variety of work.

I bought a CPO P220 West German (no rail) a few years ago..... I sold and made one BIG mistake!!! That was a great, reliable and accurate handgun, I put 1000 rounds thru it with never a glitch..... I would recommend a Sig CPO gun for the money every time....

Tri-Cities Gun Depot in Elizabethton is my recommendation. 423-543-2767. It doesn't matter if you talk to Tom or Brian, both great guys.

I have a SIG CPO P220 Elite I bought from them. Beautiful non-rail gun. My first five rounds out of it at a 10 yard target were all in one-hole. Yes, I had witnesses. Still have the target too.

I'd buy another CPO in a minute if I found one I liked.
