I went to the gun show today in Nashville, and like many of you said, it wasn't very good at all, and it wasn't. So...I took $600 cash, which was as much as I was going to spend, I took my Brother in law who is more knowledgable than I. We were looking around, and found a few possibilities, usp, and glock 19, and there was an individual there who was looking to sell his Walther P22 and a Sig P229. I just happened to here him talking price with a dealer, and he said $550, which I thought was very reasonable, the dealer declined, and I asked him if I could see it, he had the original box, manual, etc, and it was all in great condition, so I haggled with him, even thought I was going to buy it regardless, got him down to $535 and bought it!! Here are a few pics! Let me know your honest opinion of the deal!

Considering the $800+ price new, you did just fine. I've never fired any Sig that disappointed me. Very nice pistols.

Nice pistol! I just bought my wife a Sig Mosquito. This was my first Sig. I was impressed by the way it was built and its accuracy.

Thats a good first buy..you didn't get skinned on the price and you got a reliable pistol. you can't get any better than that!

You did good. That SIG will suit you well. My favorite gun of all time is my 226 riding in my MTAC right now as I type this.

229 is agreat pistol. I think you did excellent. I'm a fellow Sig fan and the 229 is one of my favorites, I carry one 12 hours a day. Load up on 13 round mags and ammo. Just FYI, 228 mags will work with your 229 (actually same mag). Congrats on a great buy!
