New blade.

As some of you know, I have been shopping around for a new fixed blade. I had been looking at the Chris Reeve Shadow series and the Microtech ADO. To find one at a decent price has been somewhat difficult since they have been discontinued. I have ran into a lot of price gouging on the CR knives. The worst offense that I ran across was someone asking $550 for a Shadow III. :screwy:

Anyway, I found a new Shadow IV for a fair price, so I bought it. I received it in the mail today, so here it is.

I am very pleased with the quality of this knife. It is fantastic. I will definitely buy a Shadow III when I find one for a decent price.

very nice!!!! Looks heavy!

I thought it was going to be really heavy too, but I was surprised at how light it was. The handle is hollow.

Good looking knife, but seems to moi that it not being full tang sort of negates one of the main advantages of a fixed blade over folder (strength)?

I don't think I could break this knife if I tried. I don't know how familiar you are with Chris Reeve's hollow handle fixed blades. His knives are made from one piece of A2 steel.

so the handle is part of the blade? or is it attached?

So I checked out his site and it all made out of a solid piece of steel. That is really cool and would probably be stronger than a full tang.

Yes, it is all one piece. No attachments, except the screw-on cap.

Very Very nice! I have been looking for one myself I think that is one of the best fixed blade knives made do they have anymore? I want one ;) PM me if you want

Chris discontinued the One piece knife, you will see these selling for $500.00 on average as the demand for them rises. I am not sure why he stopped making the One Piece design I was told that a friend of his from South Africa came up with that design and Chris will not make anymore without his blessings out of respect for him, this is what I have been told anyway ;)
