Bought this about a month ago, but haven't had much time to shoot it yet. DCAEK installed. 15 yards, off- hand, controlled pairs. Sorry for the crappy pic.

Looks like you have it mastered. Can you describe the difference in recoil between the 9 and the 45? I would expect the 45 to be a pretty soft shooter.

The recoil is a bit stouter than the 9, but not dramatically so. It has less felt recoil than a 4" 1911, as a point of reference. Actually, the 9c and the .45 seem to have about the same amount of felt recoil.....to me, at least.

do you like it better than your Glocks? Is this purely a range gun for you, or a carry gun? I like the ergo's of the M&P line.

Mostly just a range gun, although I'm considering it for carry. I do like it better than the .45 Glocks, which didn't fit my hand at all.

As much as I have tried to resist the M&P, they really kick Glock's butt in the ergronmics of the compact .45's. I don't really care anything about owning a 9mm or .40 M&P but I would really like a compact .45. Congrats on the new purchase.

I own a M&P 40 and love it. Crimson trace makes a great lazer that fits perfect in the backstrap. I am curently in the market for the compact 45. They just feel sooooo good in the hand, gotta love em!

If you're a glock guy, you may want to add the Apex RAM kit when it comes out for the .45.

Is that the same as the DCAEK?

No. It's fairly new. I don't think it's available for the 45 yet. The RAM just adds tactile and audible feedback when the trigger resets. I put mine in yesterday. Before, I couldn't feel the reset and could barely hear it.

It's less than 30 bucks with shipping from Midway.
